Meet Our Hygienists
For the past 33 years, Janelle has been a Dental Hygienist here at Hastings Family Dental. Over the years she has developed lasting relationships with many of our patients. As a hygienist, her focus is providing quality care as well as quality education on maintaining good oral health between appointments.
Janelle was born and raised in Scotland, South Dakota. Janelle graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1983. She moved to Nebraska in 1984 and married her husband Wayne in 1987. They have 2 daughters, Megan and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is a resource teacher at Grand Island public schools. Megan is a Physical Therapy Assistant at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege. Megan is married to Tom and they have 2 beautiful children, Thea and Marshall. In Janelle’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family and golfing.
Barb has been working in the dental field for 16 years now, and over half of that time has been spent right here at our practice. She loves building relationships with patients through her work – over time, it’s like seeing close friends!
Barb was born and raised in Grand Island. Barb married her husband Brad in 1992 and they reside in Grand Island. They have 2 children, Emily and Emmet. Emily is attending Optometry school in Oklahoma and Emmet is employed at Case New Holland. In Barbs spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and camping.
Meghan has a passion for educating her patients. She enjoys helping patients find ways to get healthy and stay healthy. Early in her career, Meghan had hands on periodontal training and has embraced periodontal disease treatment ever since. Taking extra time with young children is also a priority to ensure their first visits are enjoyable and pleasant.
Meghan grew up and attended school in Hastings. She graduated from Central Community College in 2006 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science.
In 2016 she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Minnesota State University, Mankato. The following fall she began teaching Oral Pathology and Periodontics to the dental hygiene students at CCC. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association, and Greater Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association.
Her son and daughter keep her busy attending their activities. She enjoys spending her time reading, traveling, cheering for the Huskers and Royals, and attending concerts with her husband.
Jody has been practicing dental hygiene for nearly two decades and loves to help patients achieve a healthy smile. She is especially fond of working with seniors to help them maintain good oral habits. Jody has a gentle manner with children and uses it to help give them a positive experience and to learn habits that will aid in keeping their teeth for a lifetime.
Jody was born and raised in southwest Nebraska and graduated from Dundy County High School. She attended UNK before attending Central Community College, where she graduated from in 2000 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science. She is also licensed to practice Public Health, and is an adjunct faculty member of the Dental Hygiene Program at CCC.
Jody is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association, and Greater Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association. She is also a member of First St. Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Jody has two boys and she and her husband enjoy following their activities. Jody enjoys any sporting event and is never far from her family and friends.
Sydney is a new face you will see here at HFD! She is extremely excited to have joined the team here at Hastings Family Dental. Sydney truly enjoys being a Dental Hygienist and getting to work with patients one on one to help keep their dental health on track.
After graduating Dental Hygiene school at Central Community College in 2015, Sydney worked as a dental hygienist in Lincoln. She was born and raised in Atwood, KS. When Sydney is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jarrod and her Morkie (Molly). Sydney is expecting her first baby in October!
Hi I’m Sam! I am one of the new faces you will see in the office. I am so excited to be a part of the HFD team! I am a recent graduate of the Central Community College Dental Hygiene program. My favorite thing about being a dental hygienist is that I get to meet new people and help them feel great about their smile. I am very caring and kind and will always put your comfort first. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Brandon and my 3 children.
